The Saturday auction opens with a sampling of early 20th century decorative arts including Handel, Pewabic, Grueby Faience Co., and a Moorcroft flam bowl, and lovely sterling silver table ware by Tiffany & Co., such as a reticulate cake stand, centerpiece bowl, and 'Wave Edge' flatware service, as well as a Reed & Barton 'Francis I' five-piece tea set and large matching tea tray. Additional silver includes a rare Colonial silver cann by Samuel Edwards of Boston, a George III teapot, and Victorian inkstand. From the Dean Trust of Imlay City, an assortment of 19th century American corner cupboards, hutches and tables of cherry, maple, mahogany and walnut, and a small collection of 19th century majolica; select items from a Lake Orion, estate including antique American and English furnishings, bronze sculptures by Auguste Moreau and after E. Delabrierre, and a Raphael Soyer etching. From various private collections: paintings by Douglas Arthur Teed, Sarkis Sarkisian, and Richard Jerzy; contemporary graphics by Louis Nevelson, Paul Maxwell, and others; Herend 'Chinese Bouquet', Bing & Grondahl 'Seagull', and Limoges 'Virginie' dinner services; a Maria of San Ildefonso black pottery jar; Chinese and Japanese porcelains, carvings, lacquer and bronze; fine jewelry including a 3.00ct diamond ring and a Victorian seed pearl/brooch; a Persian palace size carpet among other oriental rugs and carpets from antique to modern. Of special interest, a J. L. Hudson Co. bronze store plaque; antique bisque and Lenci dolls, Steiff animals and other vintage toys.
