TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By registering for this auction, you indicate that you have read and agree to the full terms and conditions set forth below.
The purchase price shall be the final hammer price plus a buyer?s premium of 18% (23% for Live Auctioneer bidders) and any applicable sales tax. Ohio dealers and resellers should submit an exemption form prior to bidding. Bids are considered binding contracts to purchase.
We strive to provide accurate descriptions and condition reports, but all lots are sold AS IS. Please read the descriptions and examine the photos. We are happy to answer your questions and provide additional and higher-resolution photographs. Please ask! We will answer questions in the order in which they are received. By bidding on any lot, you acknowledge that you are satisfied with the item(s) as is and are prepared to pick up or have shipped every item in all lots purchased. All sales are final.
You may bid in our auction in two ways:
1. Place an absentee bid directly with us (call or email for more information). We will execute your bid competitively and honestly. Absentee bids left directly with us are subject to a buyer?s premium of 18%.
2. Bid via our online bidding platform, Live Auctioneers. Bids may be left in advance of the auction, or you may bid live during the sale on November 8. The execution of online bids will be handled by the bidding platform. The Ohio Company Antiques & Art will not be held liable for any missed bids due to technical issues or loss of internet connectivity. Bids executed through Live Auctioneers are subject to a buyer?s premium of 23% (LA retains a 5% commission on lots sold through their platform, so we still only receive an 18% buyer?s premium).
The auctioneer will have sole discretion to settle any and all bidding disputes.
PAYMENT
Invoices will be sent out within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Payment is due upon receipt of that invoice. We accept most major credits, as well as cash or good check. Payment may be made by phone, mail (The Ohio Company Antiques & Art, PO Box 2199, Marietta, OH 45750), or at the time of pickup. Live Auctioneers bidders can use the ?Pay Now? button on their invoice. We are happy to email you an invoice with a click-and-pay option if you wish.
If you do not have a tax resale ID number and wish to pay when you pick up, we must charge the applicable sales tax (regardless of where you are from). All Ohio buyers who do not have a valid resale ID number will be charged sales tax. The buyer's premium is the same regardless of payment method. No lots will be released without payment.
PICKUP
We will have 2 scheduled days for pick up at the home Gallipolis, Ohio. These days are Tuesday, November 9 (the day after the auction) and Wednesday, November 17. If you are planning on picking up on one of these days, please email or call ahead so that we can help facilitate an efficient visit. Pickups at other than the regularly scheduled times may be possible. Please call or email to inquire.
SHIPPING
We will have some in-house shipping for this auction. Items eligible for in-house shipping will be noted in the condition description.
We will ship most smaller items in-house and charge you only for the actual cost of packaging, shipping, and insurance. THE COST FOR SHIPPING WILL NOT BE ON YOUR INITIAL INVOICE. We will send a separate invoice for the shipping charge, so please pay the sale invoice immediately and let us know if you wish us to ship your item(s). We will then calculate the shipping charge and send a second invoice.
Larger and fragile items will be referred to a third-party shipper for packing and shipping. We will transport your item(s) to them and you will pay them directly for packing and shipping. We are happy to obtain a shipping quote for these items before the auction, and we strongly encourage you to request one.
For furniture and other large items, it is the buyer?s responsibility to transport or arrange for transportation. If you do not have a preferred furniture shipper, you may select a shipper from the following list:

Please note: If you purchase a group lot, including the larger ?clean-out lots?, you are responsible for removing all of the items from the home in Gallipolis. You cannot purchase a group lot and only take a few items.
ALL ITEMS MUST BE PAID FOR AND REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE AUCTION OR WE WILL BEGIN ASSESSING A $5 PER ITEM PER DAY STORAGE FEE.

If you have not contacted The Ohio Company Antiques & Art to arrange payment within 3 days of the time that invoice is sent, we will charge the credit card you used to register for the auction for the amount of your invoice.
