Prehistoric and Historic Artifact Auction
An exceptional and nicely varied sale of fine Artifacts. Several consignors made the incredible selection of fine Flint relics possible. A wide selection of Paleo and Early Archaic points will be offered, most with COAs from respected authenticators. Dean Mesnard's group of Avon Chert Daltons and Beaver Lake points will be sold (individually). All are exceptional points. The color and quality of this flint offering (over 75 with quality COAs) is hard to come by. Most of the Mesnard consignments have Rogers COAs. A portion of the Richard Niehoff Prehistoric Pottery Collection will be sold. Richard is selling a portion of the pottery that was on display with the Dayton (OH) Society of Natural History. Several of the Caddo pieces were pictured in Art of the Ancient Caddo. We've saved the Dr. Mountjoy Slate Collection. Dozens of Slate Pendants, Gorgets, Bar Amulets and Bannerstones are in this sale. Other fine Bannerstones from the Ed Harvey estate compliment the Bannerstone offering. You'll also find an upper end selection of Historic Artifacts being dispersed, including a Tomahawk once in the Jim Dresslar collection. This sale has a number of top end Axes and other stone relics including a few Northwest Coast Pestles. We are pleased to introduce the Tina Burton and Dan Teubner Collection. It is, in itself, a nicely varied grouping. This introduction includes several fine Pre-Columbian Artifacts from their collection.
