Extraordinary Aoyama Sanu Art Collection
Charlotte's Auctions
Aoyama San?u (1912 - 1993) was a master of Chinese and Japanese calligraphy, a dedicated collector, and an educator of calligraphers and connoisseurs. He taught at Daito Bunka University and also took on private pupils. For thirty-seven years beginning in 1956, he published a monthly periodical, Kindai shodo gurafu, that greatly contributed to the popularization of Chinese and Japanese calligraphy in the postwar period.
Aoyama San'u was close friends with many Chinese calligraphy and painting masters and has a collection of over 1000 pieces of calligraphy and paintings. Today we are pleased to present a collection of Chinese paintings from Aoyama San'u's collection, brought to us by a private collector in New York.
This stunning collection covers various intricate Tianhuang, Ceramics, Porcelains, Paintings, calligraphy, Buddhist Artifacts and Jade that were provided by various cosigners around the world. You do not miss this wonderful opportunity to buy or bid on this curated selection of Asian fine art and works of art.
