Chinese Jade, Ceramics and Works of Art
Presenting a total of 156 lots, Session 2 offers a diverse range of Chinese bronzes, ceramics, and carved jades. Ornately carved jades in the form of animals and figures are complemented by exquisite jade bi, dating as far as the Liangzhu culture, agate toggles, and carved tourmaline pendants. Our prolific offering of ceramics encompasses a Qianjiang ware by Chinese artist Zhu Shaoquan, hailing from the Guangxu period, an 18th century garlic-mouth vase with dragon and ruyi motifs, and perhaps most breathtaking, a pair of doucai conical bowls originating from the Yongzheng period. The session is rounded out with a selection of carved cinnabar, gilt and lacquered decorative arts, and finely made bronze Buddhist figures, censers, and dings.
