Sydney Rare Book Auctions: Law, Military etc

We are pleased to announce that we are holding our next auction on Sunday 25th March. There are over 550 lots of rare and interesting books for sale. The books include a wonderful collection of antiquarian law books from the 16th, 17th and 18th century. Many of these books are important to the foundation of modern law and several of these titles are listed in Printing and the Mind of Man. There is an 1831 Playbill for Mutiny of the Bounty, as well as Governor Macquarie signed land grants and a Convict?s 1841 Ticket of Leave. We have a fantastic signed copy of Watership Down, Early printings of T.S. Eliot?s Poetry and many signed books including Roald Dahl. There are original handwritten manuscript poems by Henry Lawson and 6 large volumes of scraps books concerning the life and times of Roderick Quinn, an Australian Poet, with signed letters by two Australian Prime Ministers, Watson and Chielfy. In terms of photography, we have original Kerry and King Studio photos of Australian Aboriginal people, an early Sydney photograph album, a good collection of colour photograph albums of ships in Sydney Harbour, an original signed photograph of Ion Idriess and many original photographs of Australian authors. There is a fabulous collection of Military books including Australian Unit Histories. There are good Art books, wonderful collections of Pulps, Comics and Science Fiction in hardcover.
