We are delighted to present, in our October 17th American Art auction, a number of iconic works by some of the most significant American artists. Anchored by a playful and lighthearted early illustration by Norman Rockwell, the auction runs the gamut of 19th and 20th century American Art, from detailed floral still life to abstracted landscape. Highlights include eye-catching works by Post-Impressionist Maurice Prendergast, Modernist John Marin, and Impressionists Fern Coppedge, Jane Peterson, and Mary Cassatt, with a series of her exquisite pastel counterproofs. Also featured in the auction are mesmerizing landscapes by Charles Burchfield, Dale Nichols, Jonas Lie, and Wolf Kahn, poignant scenes by Regionalist Joseph Vorst, stunning surrealist visions by Marguerite Zorach and John Wilde, as well as a series of colorful Presidential portraits by LeRoy Neiman.
