Clarke's first summer sale represents an assortment of unique pieces dating from period antiques to mid century modern from all four corners of the world. Decorative arts feature a place size 2 tier giltwood chandelier, a large 70" high Camer chandelier, fine art glass such as Tiffany, Dale Chihuly, 4 deco glass panels, and a Sevres porcelain urn and a pair of 19th c. opaline vases. Period Antiques include a beautifully crafted antique American side chair, an antique French canopy bed, an 18th c. trumeau mirror, 19th c. Egyptian revival mirror and an Adams style paint decorated armoire. Fine art is highlighted by important French works by Blanchard, Lanfant de Metz, Lavielle, Moreau, and Desnos; American pieces feature Darch Lewis, Kitchell, Walkowitz, Ernst, Hirschfeld, Oldenburg, Potter, Newman; Hungarian paintings by Ladanyi and Czene; 2 large abstracts by Eska Smythe, 1 large contemporary oil of dolls, several miniature portraits on ivory. Numerous lots of estate jewelery include Tiffany, Cartier, vintage sterline, Elgin pocket watches, cameos with diamonds, a platinum bracelet with sapphires, a platinum ring, and other gold rings, pins, and bracelets.
