The early summer sale will consist of American and European works of art, a collection of Chinese art and ceramics, Waterford crystal, Hawkes, Val St. Lambert, Victorian art glass, silver, Roseville pottery, Hummel’s, Royal Doulton figures, Zolnay and accessories.
Artwork will perhaps be the strongest section of the sale with works by Alfred Downing Fripp (English 1822-1895), Samuel Bough (English 1822-1895), John Whorf (American, National Academy 1903-1959), Liuboslav Hutsaliuk (Ukranian/American 1923-2003), Petro Cholodny (Ukraine 20th century), Henry John Kinnaird (British active 1880-1909).
Porcelain and pottery will play a large part in the sale with a collection of Roseville including such patterns as “Pinecone”, “Bushberry”, “Snowberry”, “Mingtree”, “Clematis” and several others. There will be several lots of Belleek porcelain including vases, cottage shaped covered butter, bee skep honey pot on stand, owl vase, and teapots with marks from black, brown to green. In addition there will be several Royal Doulton and Hummel figures to be sold along with several Zolnay figural dishes.
Several lots of silver will also be included. One of the more interesting pieces that will be offered is an Imperial Russian 84 silver neillo and chased eye glass case, marked by I. Avdeyev, Moscow and dated 1857. Two Cambodian figural 90% silver covered boxed in the form of a turtle and elephant, pair of Netherland silver folding fork and spoon combination with armorial engraved crest dated and monogrammed- G 1612 & V 1605.
