Original 20th Century Photographs
An interesting mix of photographs mainly from the first half of the twentieth century. Photography in the early 20th century saw many changes, including a transformed perception of the medium and photography becoming more accessible to the middle class. Photographs gained credibility as objective evidence because they could document people, places, and events. Social documentary photography also evolved, capturing the effects of industrialization, and other significant events, creating images that functioned both as social criticism and art.
