Clarke's first autumn auction is comprised of multi-estate items including fine art, period to midcentury modern furniture, decorative arts, silver, Asian antiques, jewelry, and miscellaneous collectible items.
The sale will begin with over 40 lots of lighting including chandeliers, girondelles, sconces, opaline lamps, and Caldwell.
Fine art features American artists: local painter and illustrator Alton Toby, Tom Christopher, Cornoyer, Dormont, Gene Davis, Appel, Bragg, Channing Hare, Watson, Hopkins, sculptors - George Rickey, Joel Perlman, Paul Wegner, Robert Zeidman; European and Latin artists: Ardissone, Enrique Marin, Widlizka, Hessler, Halmi, Conrade, Galvez, Nierman, Guillermo, Hegedusic, Old Master paintings; renowned Indian artist Krishna Ara, Israeli paintings including Shaoul Smira, and many others.
Period furniture is highlighted by an 18th C. Venetian painted commode, a 19th C. trumeau mirror, an antique French dining table, and a highly carved 11 piece oak dining set.
Midcentury modern includes designers such as Springer, Probber, Widdicomb, Wegner, Rison, Dunbar, and Nakashima (a beautiful walnut Conoid dining table), several Lucite pieces and numerous others.
A Steinway Model M Piano, a pair of 19th C. Opaline vases, E.P. art deco bronze candelabra, Picasso Madoura chargers, dore bronze reliquary vitrine and a Tiffany Studios acorn shade are just some of the decorative art pieces on the auction block.
Sterling includes several flatware sets, Tiffany and Gorham. Numerous lots of estate jewelry feature an 18kt gold, diamond & black enamel Victorian set, an Marret & Baugrand chatelaine and watch, many lots of Rachel Gera silver, and a Maharaja necklace.
