This May at Clars we are excited to present a number of fascinating and diverse works from across all periods and style. The Fine Art Department will highlight an oil on board painting by French Barbizon School artist Felix Ziem, a bronze sculpture by Richard Howard Hunt, plus a collection of works on paper by American caricaturist Albert Hirschfeld. As well as works by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Diego Rivera and many prints and bronze sculptures. Fine furniture and decorative arts will feature items modern design enthusiasts will certainly be drawn to, like the iconic Mira and George Nakashima Cushion and New Chairs. Traditional styles include a stunning Pottier & Stymus New York Aesthetic chamber suite, along with 19th century Barbedienne bronzes and Italian marble figures. In addition, colorful Studio Glass pieces, classic Georg Jensen silver, and a fascinating collection of Indigenous art featuring Inuit carvings and Navajo rugs. The Asian Art Department is thrilled to present a large Chinese embroidered panel and a Chinese bamboo figure of Shoulao, the deity of longevity in Chinese mythology. Plus, many fine examples of jade, ceramics, folding screens, and various decorative pieces.
