Murano Glass
The approximately 210 lots on offer will be led by an 'A dama' vase in a black and red pattern designed by Paolo Venini in 1953, which will now be offered for 24,000 - 28,000 euros. Recently, designs by the company's founder have gained considerable attention from collectors - the rare and refined 'A dama' design is particularly sought after.
A bowl 'A macchie', designed by Carlo Scarpa for Venini in the early 1940s, is on offer with an estimate of 8,000 - 10,000 euros. Scarpa also designed the beautiful black 'Battuto' vase with hammered decoration, which will go into the race on October 16 at the same estimated price of 8,000 - 10,000 euros.
The legendary designer and company owner Ercole Barovier is represented with twenty-eight works fo the highest quality.
The range of glass objects from Seguso Vetri d'Arte is also impressive, mostly from the pen of Flavio Poli. More than half of them date from the pre-war period. The auction features a very rare vase by Dino Martens in the little-known 'Astrale' design from 1956.
Giulio Radi, Giorgio Ferro and Anzolo Fuga were all very successful for the A.Ve.M. manufactory. The broad spectrum of this manufactory is clearly visible at the auction.
