Freeman’s | Hindman is proud to present our biannual Western and Contemporary Native American Art auction, featuring 158 lots of fine art by past and present masters. The sale features property from numerous private collectors and noteworthy institutions, including property being sold to support the mission and vision of The Couse-Sharp Historic Site in Taos, New Mexico and property being sold to benefit the collections care or acquisitions fund of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming. Additional works from the Collection of a Missouri Company help build the visual narrative of this important sale. The November 12th auction features exceptional examples of painting and sculpture ranging from historic to contemporary. Important works by William Gollings, Joseph Henry Sharp, Charles Marion Russell, and Joseph De Yong are included in the selection of works by the master artists who helped shape the Western Art world. Important contemporary highlights include works by Dave McGary, Tom Uttech, Theodore Waddell, Howard Post, Paul Pletka, and Andrew Peters, just to name a few. The selection of fine art by renowned indigenous artists continues the Freeman’s | Hindman tradition of showcasing some of the finest names in Contemporary Native American art today. Paintings and sculpture by Fritz Scholder, Earl Biss, Emmi Whitehorse, Allan Houser, and Roxanne Swentzell are among the impressive highlights featured in the November 12th auction.
