Art + Design

Freeman’s | Hindman is pleased to present Chicago Art + Design, our December collaboration between our Post War and Contemporary Art and Design teams featuring exciting examples for collectors at a variety of price points. We are particularly delighted to continue to highlight a robust collection of Chicago creatives like Gertrude Abercrombie, Richard Hunt, Marcena Alberta Barton, Ruth Duckworth, and Lee Godie, as well as an innovative collection of works from the Chicago-based curatorial mind of gallerist Robbin Lockett. Other hometown favorites include playful Imagist offerings from Roger Brown, Jim Nutt, Karl Wirsum, Robert Lostutter, and Ed Paschke. The sale also features a strong collection of contemporary photography by Gregory Crewdson, Sally Mann, Diane Arbus, Peter Beard, and Thomas Ruff and sculptures by George Rickey and Albert Paley, as well as stand-out works by Angel Otero and an early Roy Lichtenstein painting. Design highlights include examples of Art Deco and Mid-Century furniture as well as sculpture and ceramics by Bertile Vallien, Ken Ferguson, Robert Wilson, and many others.
