Gray's Auctioneers
Our early fall auction of art and design kicks off the busy auction season with a cornucopia of delightful interior design and art from the 18th century through to our present time. Collector John A. Davidson Jr.’s George III Mahogany Butler’s Secretary Bookcase at lot 20 is a showcase of 18th century cabinet making, while contemporary Belgian artist, Hans Op De Beeck’s extraordinary, large scale, Lambda print photograph of a forest scene, staged in a studio, is a marvel of visual fiction that in his words, ‘delivers a moment of wonder and silence’. From a collection of 19th century perfume caskets, gold cigar cutter fobs and tussie mussie posys to the 183 piece sterling silver flatware service for twelve by the venerable American silversmiths Lunt Silver, this auction radiates elegance. All lots are available for viewing in person preview starting August 27 through September 5. Bidding is available online at Grays Auctioneers, Invaluable, Live Auctioneers and Bidsquare Telephone bidding is available by arrangement.
