Fine Country Americana

The late Brenda Zinn Joziatis of Canterbury, NH, amassed a remarkable collection of painted furniture, early textiles, vernacular art, and folk objects. For decades, she scoured the NH countryside attending yard sales, auctions, and shows. Fascinated by provenance and ?make-dos?, she often prioritized known history over condition. Many of her finds still bear her handwritten notes, labels, and tags. Brenda once owned the early 19th C. ?French House? in Grafton, NH, and in 1989 sold it to Bill Smith Sr., who carefully relocated it to the gallery complex in Plainfield?where, fittingly, her collection will now be offered for auction. This sale presents a rare opportunity to acquire authentic, largely untouched material culture from a bygone era.
