United States cards include main streets, churches, hotels, schools, parks, and beaches with many examples from the Midwest and Northeast along with a good showing of Long Island views. Industrial scenes, bridges, and civic buildings round out the American section.

Transportation is another highlight represented by railroads, trolley lines, depots, stations, and maritime subjects such as harbors, piers, steamers, and waterfront views.

Topical categories include holiday greetings for Valentine?s Day, Easter, and Christmas, occupational scenes, crowds, and parades. Well known publishers such as Raphael Tuck and Sons, Detroit Publishing Company, and Rotograph are present along with many real photo examples.

Select ephemera accompany the postcards, among them a lot of Keystone stereoscopic photographs with wartime and naval themes, a Soviet TASS press-release packet, and additional photographs, maps, brochures, and documents primarily from the State of Maine.
