This diverse auction features the full spectrum of the history of the photographic medium. Highlights depicting the American scene include Ansel Adams’ sublime Winter Sunrise, Sierra Nevada, from Lone Pine, California (1944; printed April 1978), Edward Steichen’s The May Pole (The Empire State Building) (1932), George Tice’s Petit's Mobil Station and Watertower, Cherry Hill, N.J.
