Arms, Armor and Militaria Online

Cowan's Auctions Presents its October Online Sale for 2025. This auction will present bidders with a number of items from the collections of Robert G. Paulsen, Bill Beard, and Jeffrey Sanner, including collectible military arms from the Civil War through the present day. The Sale will commence with historic edged weapons and bayonets, including a "Memphis" marked Memphis Novelty Works S-Guard Fighting Knife from the collection of Bill Beard. Antique firearms will follow, beginning with percussion pistols and revolvers of various makes such as Whitney, Starr, Bacon, and Smith & Wesson. Gunsmiths and historians will find the lots of 1855 and 1861 Contract Rifle Musket Locks of great interest, which will then be followed by antique long arms dating from the Civil War through the early 20th Century. Militaria comprising tools, spurs, powder flasks, and cartridge boxes will then give way to Paulsen's collection of artillery shells and fuses. From there, we will offer modern edged weapons, from World War II fighting knives to contemporary fighting and bowie knives by Jimmy Lile, Randall, Puma, and Chris Reeve. Collectors of rare fighting knives will be particularly interested in a Prototype Mission Knives & Tools Non-Serrated MPF-1 All Titanium Folding Knife, one of only four produced, and accompanied by a letter from Homer Brett. Afterward, bidders will be presented with modern firearms, from makers such as Winchester, Sig, Browning, Glock, and Navy arms. Of keenest interest are rare Springfield rifles including a 1939 dated Model 1903A1 Marine Corps Sniper Rifle. Contemporary militaria, slings, and reference materials will round out the sale.
