Living Contemporary

Living Contemporary is Wright's highly-anticipated auction featuring a well-curated selection of art and design. This season's sale features a broad spectrum of works by iconoclast American artist Christopher Wool, offering a snapshot of the New York art scene in the 1980s and 90s and insight into the artist's creative process. These works have never before been presented at auction and are comprised of accessible studio ephemera such as Wool's uniquely subversive business card and signature works such as an early untitled word painting (PRANKSTER).

This season's sale features nearly fifty works from the collection of Joseph and Janet Shein, art patrons who have spent a lifetime collecting extraordinary works. Artists represented in the Shein collection include Philip Pearlstein, Julio Le Parc, Alex Katz, Jenny Hozler and Roy Lichtenstein. Also exceptional among the Shein collection is a custom dining table by John Vesey. Eclectic and inspiring, the collection of Joseph and Janet Shein highlights the intersection between life, art and design.
