On December 9th, Wright is proud to present Important Italian Glass, offering an exceptional selection of works, including designs by Vittorio Zecchin, Fulvio Bianconi, Carlo Scarpa and Ercole Barovier. Three rare and important works from Italy at Macy's (a companion to the mid-century traveling exhibition Italy at Work) include a Bicolore Macchie bowl by Carlo Scarpa, a spectacular Con Fiori vase by Fulvio Bianconi and a Ken Scott Starfish in Incamiciato and Murrine glass. Along with works from Fratelli Toso, Dino Martens, Anzolo Fuga, and Alessandro Pianon, this presentation celebrates the storied tradition of craftsmanship that has defined Italian glassmaking for centuries. Design on December 9th presents a selection of works from modern and contemporary masters, featuring furnishings, decor, lighting, and more. Among the leading works are a Rare and Important Mesa table from T.J. Robsjohn-Gibbings, sculpture from Claire Falkenstein, and exquisitely crafted furniture from George Nakashima, as well as remarkable examples from Harry Bertoia, Frits Henningsen, Finn Juhl, Hans J. Wegner, Joaquim Tenreiro, Albert Cheuret, Isamu Noguchi, Pierre Jeanneret, Jorge Zalszupin, Ettore Sottsass, Silas Seandel, Marcel Wanders, and more.
