Head of Sale John Mackie, together with Lyon & Turnbull?s experienced Design team, is delighted to present our upcoming DESIGN Since 1860 auction, taking place on 15 & 16 April. Held during Lyon & Turnbull?s 200th year, the sale reflects a long-standing commitment to the study, presentation and sale of design and decorative arts. Bringing together more than a century and a half of innovation, the auction offers collectors the opportunity to acquire exceptional works by leading designers of the Arts & Crafts and Aesthetic Movements, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and the Modern movements. The sale showcases a beautiful selection of works from these influential periods, including pieces by iconic designers such as William Morris, Christopher Dresser, W. A. S. Benson and C. R. Ashbee. Further highlights include works by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Frances Macdonald and Jessie M. King, Ernest Gimson, Edward Barnsley, Arthur Simpson of Kendal, a group of works by the Arts & Crafts architect Charles Spooner, and pieces from the estate of the artist Elyse Ashe Lord.
