Welcome to Signature House's Tenth Anniversary Sale! In this offering you will be delighted to find one of the most important banners of the 20th century – the banner that hung at the entrance of the Solidarity union hall in 1989 that heralded the fall of communism – signed by Pope John Paul II, Mikhail Gorbechev, Lech Walesa, Havel of Czechoslovakia, George H. W. Bush, Margaret Thatcher, Henry Kissinger and George Schultz. In addition, we have Presidents from Washington to Clinton; Signers Benjamin Franklin and Wythe; plus George Rogers Clark. Literary autographs include Lewis Carroll, Beatrix Potter, and Oscar Wilde as well a 1632 copy of Shakespeare’s Macbeth from the Second Folio. We also feature a large 17th century bronze bell from Asia, antiquities from the Middle East and other collectibles, plus artists and composers. Popular Civil War autographs include Lee, Longstreet and Chamberlain plus an identified Confederate cape from Shiloh and a blood-stained Bible. We have letters by John Sutter and Wild Bill Cody. There are financial documents and obsolete currency. We have autographs from Amelia Earhart to Neil Armstrong. Military includes Patton, MacArthur and Eisenhower and other WW II leaders including Winston Churchill; as well as Pancho Villa to Colin Powell. A document signed by Oliver Cromwell together with authentic 17th and 18th century armor are featured; plus European royalty such as Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, and Victoria. Entertainers include John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Gable and Bogart. We have a baseball signed by Ruth and Gehrig from the 2nd ever All-Star Game, and other sports notables. And much more.
