William Jenack?s auction of July 19th, 2015 will include a private collection of Victorian and Edwardian era advertising fans, business cards, post cards and other vintage paper lots, jewelry, African art, watches, 19th and 20th century furnishings, fine art, prints, porcelain, Chinese and Japanese works of art, rugs and carpets.
Artwork highlights include a watercolor landscape by Arthur Parton, oil on canvas of marigolds by Henry Leon Sanger, oil on canvas titled ?Thirst? by William A. Hofstetter, two intricate works in pen, graphite and watercolor by Peter Keating, oil on canvas, Villa Jo Yosa, by Andres Coniso, oil on canvas of a clipper ship at full sail by Luca Papalura, oil on canvas by W.P.A. artist Herman Palmer, a Parisian street scene by T. Pencke, French school oil on canvas of an American Indian chief drinking a bottle of wine and many other works.
African works to be offered include a Kongo carved and painted power figure, Senufo chief?s staff, Baule carved and painted crested mask, Bakuba ritual mask, Senufo figural rhythmic pounders, Yohure carved and painted mask, Grebo carved and painted wart hog mask, Ibibio carved and painted ceremonial mask, Dan carved mask.
The collection of advertising and ephemera is notable for its pristine condition and scope. The cardboard ad hand fans are in like new condition, Maxfield Parrish calendars from 1922 and 1948 still in their original packaging, assorted vintage calendars from 1910 through 1940?s all in like new condition, assorted vintage advertising cards and Victorian cuts.
