Oils, Watercolours, Drawings and Prints

Our first major Art sale of the year brings together a wide range of styles and eras. Notable highlights include the oil on canvas Shipping on the Thames by Charles John De Lacy estimated at £2000-3000 and a watercolour by Sir William Charles Ross, Three Children in Elegant Parkland signed and dated 1820 from the collection of Countess Raine Spencer estimated to realise £2000-3000.

For the fashion-orientated we have a quite remarkable collection of dress designs from the early 20th Century. Journal des Dames et des Modes contains 81 original fascicules and 186 fine pochoir-coloured plates. The condition of this collection is quite remarkable and is a fascinating and highly entertaining addition to those with an eye for style. The plates are expected to reach £3000-5000.

A small collection of posters also appear, of particular interest is the Alphonse Mucha, Tragique Histore d'Hamlet, Prince de Danemark featuring Sarah Bernhardt as Hamlet from 1899 estimated to reach £4000-6000.
