One of the items was described incorrectly. It was an ivory miniature under glass. They described the glass as broken (easily replaced) but it ended up that the ivory itself was broken (very expensive if ever fixable)

I have frequented Merrill's Auction house on several occasions and bid on several items that interested me and won several on different occasions. Merrill's Auction house is set up for the customers as potential investors of the fine and sometimes not so fine merchandise. It's all in the eyes of the beholder. I would recommend Merrill's Auction house as one of the better Auction houses in the Chittenden Valley.

I appreciate an auction house who treats the Live Auction customers fairly and honestly. The bidding was timed to allow everyone online to place bids.

First class service

  With any auction the buyer relies on details of condition from what the auction house notes in writing and complete pictures. This is exactly what THEY stated on the first line, under Condition that they show if there "is" any problems Except They said nothing about the clock's condition itself. What I got was a clock missing key parts, the bottom molding badly damaged and some of it missing. No pics, nothing noted about the clock one way or the other in "Condition".   Flaws Hidden, no response to 2 emails.   Bid only if you feel lucky

I had a question regarding shipping and was told how the process worked with the company Merrill's use. As it turned out, another local company, Dorset Shipping, contacted me. Amy from Dorset was very helpful, explained their pick up process from Merrill's and guided me with paying their invoice. Their care in packaging was excellent too.

On and off for 40 + years, I have purchased from Merrill’s Auctioneers. Some items I no longer have, but others I still own. Overall, they strive for an honest representation and diverse auction. In my opinion, they are the premier auction house in Vermont. I still look forward to their new auction listings.

I've bought from Merrill's for more than three decades. Everything from fine antiques to cookware-and am continually amazed by the range of merchandise that comes through their doors. Are my bids always successful-of course not-such is the nature of an auction. But I've continually found interesting things and a staff anxious to help-and share their knowledge!
