LiveAuctioneers should provide a way for the buyers to continuously provide feedback about the auctioneers.

I had sent an inquiry about this lot to San Rafael vialiveauctioneers.com on October 10, 2015. The sale was on October 17, 2015. I never received any reply. The frame on the painting had been damaged and reglued (badly) on the upper right prior to being shipped to me (as proven by pre-auction photos of the frame). Of course, I do not know if this was done bu auction staff or by the private shipper I used, ups store.

They seem not too keen with the after sale service. Their nominated courier tends to be over-charging. Too much backwards n forwards! Thanks

The auction house had cut open the backing of the frame to share material information with other bidders, but they did not disclose that in the description. The material information was that the print had been substantially trimmed. When I went to the auction to view the print in frame, there were no signs that it had been opened on the back. But, when I picked up the print, the backing of the frame was destroyed and the auctioneer said that it had to be done to answer questions. The fact that the print was trimmed is material fact that should be made known to all bidders, if the auctioneer decides to destroy the framing to answer a question from other bidders. Because the print has been trimmed, it's value has fallen from about $1200 to $100. So, I overpaid due to the auctioneer withholding material information, which the auctioneer made available to others AFTER I inspected the print and frame physically. Had I know that the auctioneer would allow me to destroy a frame to check the quality of the print, I would have asked. In my experience, this auctioneer is SCUM.
