'Westport Auction' misrepresented a: Signed 'Oil Painting' when in fact it is a 'Print!'... They are an unprofessional auction house that obviously does NOT know what they are selling and as a 'buyer' if you find out that they have grossly misrepresented an item, then you will be chasing after your funds. Very 'unprincipled and and uneducated' auction house!

The folks at Westport are always very responsive and helpful. Recommended auctioneers!

Absolutely beautiful-I didn't expect this quality of art-an artist's proof-at this price. It looks stunning and extremely expensive-it makes my whole dining room.

Great auction house. Have purchased from them a couple times now. Highly recommend.

I've purchased from Westport 28 different times over the past 6 years. I have noticed the accuracy of their condition reports has declined over the past year or two. In the example of these 17 plates, the condition read "Utensil marks and scratches. Wear to gold decoration. Wear to glaze on one plate." They missed chips or cracks to 4 of the plates, roughly 24 % of the plates in the lot. Missed damage on porcelain or glass has become a near regular occurrence. I have not reached out to them so I do not know how accommodating they are in these situations and prefer to wait to lodge a complaint for a more significant purchase. They are an honest auction house, just getting a little sloppy of late.

Descriptions were accurate, staff was responsive to questions, merchandise was good, and payment process was easy. In-house shipping charges a little high would be my only complaint. All in all, good experience and I would buy from again.
