Rip off
Won my item which is just a little bit bigger than a postage stamp an they want to charge over $50 dollars for shipping. I guess someone wants MY item for themselves. Sad company to deal with.

They lost my lot
After I paid for my items, they informed me that my lot was lost. They did refund me promptly but overall a very disappointed experience

Generally good experience
There were a few problems. First they have no in-house shipping and the shippers they recommended varied greatly in cost. Their local UPS was cheapest and did a great job packing. UPS store did have a problem receiving emails. Hopefully that’s been remedied. Finally even though it seems commonplace now 28 % is too high for a buyers premium

Auction House Does Not Ship
The photos and listing for the lot I bid on were very accurate. I had trouble getting timely responses from the auction house. My approval to bid was held up for days then finally approved minutes before the auction. Then my bid was cancelled while the auction and I had to phone the auction house to get re-approved to bid minutes before the lot I was interested in came up for bidding. I also noticed during the live auction that a number of lots were "passed" even though there were bids on the items and no indication of any "reserve". Doesn't instil confidence. While not the fault of Greenwich, the recommended shippers were very pricey and some didn't respond to inquiries at all.

They do not offer in-house shipping, shipping cost are exorbitantly high by all of listed shippers.
On line bids, when there is an opening bid shown, they automatically run it up to the highest on line bid, fair warning, fair warning, you may be bidding against your own maximum bid. This place does not offer in house shipping, besides the 28 % buyer fees, be prepared to shell out a lot of money for shipping. Their designated shippers have you locked in and can charge exorbitant fees, their rates quoted were $160 to $190 to ship two decoys that weighed four pounds. Pay attention to their auctioneer when bidding, they warn you three times, Fair warning, Fair warning, Fair warning, sold. There was a first time to experience Greenwich Auction, and there was a last time to experience Greenwich Auction, it occurred at the same time. I will not be back, a word of caution, expect the worse and you may be satisfied.

The manager was aggressive and mean at pickup
I promptly paid for my item and told them I would stop by a week later to pick it up. When I arrived with a friend, we were met by a woman who said she was the manager who demanded to know why I did not have an appointment. I calmly told her about the email I had sent. She told me that the guys who handle pickups were out getting an item from the warehouse, and that I would have to wait. I asked her for an estimated time of arrival, and she became annoyed, telling me that I would need proof that I paid. I attempted to show her the receipt on my phone, which she then tried to grab out of my hand. I calmly and politely told her I was not comfortable with this, and I offered to zoom in on any information she needed to see, but she kept demanding I give her my phone, to the point where she was yelling. I tried asking her what she wanted to see, but she became hysterical, demanding my phone shouting about me not having an appointment, even after I showed her the email I had sent. I then asked to speak to her boss, and she screamed that he was on vacation. She then turned around and walked into the building, screaming at me not to follow her. I waited for a few minutes, and the two employees showed up along with another customer. These guys were polite: I showed them my receipt, and they told me they would get my item. When she opened the door to let them in, she told the other customer to enter, but scream that I could not enter, which was enough to deter the other customer from entering himself. The two guys emerged in a few minutes and gave me my item, apologizing for her behavior. I am very visibly an orthodox Jew and a high school teacher, and both my friend and I are officers in the National Guard. We were well-dressed, remained calm and respectful, and not threatening in any way, as the other customer can testify. My friend thinks she might have behaved that way out of bias against Jews, but for whatever reason, her behavior was completely unacceptable.

Factory-like, impersonal auction experience
Very impersonal experience for me. When I had an issue with my order and a death in the family, they handled it callously. They reprimanded me for not getting back to them quickly enough and for communicating over the phone and via Live Auctioneers direct message, instead of by email, indicating that was the only way they accepted official communication. My calls/DMs meant nothing to them apparently. If there is no issue and you love your item, they may be fine to deal with. I found them lacking humanity given my specific situation. I ended up paying a fee just to resolve my situation and never received my item.

I have made several requests for information to have my item sent to me. I have received no such information. I don't think I will buy from this company again.
