My recent experience with Live Auctioneers.. not the auction house was unacceptable

Lamp arrived damaged. No response from multiple emails.

It took too long to get invoice and it took too long to get shipping quote. The whole process was way too slow. The shipment still has not arrived!

I'm still waiting to receive a piece of my item that they didn't ship originally and it's been three weeks

The description of the rug was good, typical for its age. There were several photos, none of which showed in detail the extent of damage. There are holes, portions missing, uneven fading, entire length of one side needs repair, and a overwhelming odor of pet urine. I know that online bidding prevents inspecting items in person, and there is a certain risk involved. But the extremely poor condition of this piece is so overwhelming it is reasonable to think it would have been described more accurately. It will need extensive repair and cleaning to be in average condition.

I purchase the same type of items from other sellers and I feel that shipping cost was excessive. The shipping was $40. Usually for the size and weight of the box it should have been around $20. I will have to account for that in my decision on future auctions.

Package was shipped by UPS and they were difficult to deal with. I never received an email saying the package was arriving and it was only because the auction house gave me the tracking number that I could track it. When I called UPS they gave me multiple different excuses why there was no notification (sender put your name in address field, etc). Fortunately in the end I was able to safely retrieve the vase from their holding facility.

The packing and shipping process was extraordinary... the best I have seen in 30years!!

Today is Feb 22nd. The auction was held Jan. 31st and I still haven't received my purchase. It took nearly three weeks just to get an invoice with the shipping amount included. When I called to ask when I would receive an invoice I was asked not to rush them that they had many items to take care of. Not a good experience. I probably will not do business with them again.

I won't be bidding with this particular auction house anymore because they never responded to my question regarding a MISSING ITEM that was supposed to be on a nearly $1500 item I paid for. The item is a 1930s extremely rare mortician's head and it came with two hand-made real hair eyebrows that are IRREPLACEABLE. When I unwrapped the head, I carefully pulled away the plastic wrapping and lo and behold, there was only ONE EYEBROW. I am missing a second eyebrow and this is extremely important that both eyebrows are present on this piece because if one or both eyebrows were not on the piece when it was up for bids, I certainly would not have bid on it. I emailed the auction house and they absolutely refused to contact me to correct THEIR MISTAKE.

The fact that they handled the shipping arrangements was nice.

I bought a very rare morticians wax head and paid almost $1500 for it. It arrived missing a handmade real human hair eyebrow. The face is MISSING AN EYEBROW. I emailed and told them that I unwrapped it very carefully and there was no second eyebrow. I never even heard back. I am pretty upset about it because it would be like buying a chair and when it arrived the cushion was missing. Or buying an antique china doll and one of the hands is missing. I am furious because I never would have bid on this if it was originally missing an eyebrow and I certainly would not have paid nearly $1500 for a piece that is now sadly and irrevocably incomplete. I don't know that I will be bidding online anymore after this.

Only one photo of the item. Description was better than average. Shipping charges were a tad high. 21 % Premium also quite aggressive. Premiums getting too high. Am bidding on less items. Focusing more on other websites

Auction house notified that there was a slight delay in the Fed-Ex pickup which was awfully nice. Their shipping of the item was extremely fast and well the item was well packaged. I'll definitely do business with these people again.
