Excellent! Excellent! Excellent Auction House. A + +
I cannot begin to explain how happy I am with Crescent City Auction Gallery. From the moment I won, until I received the item, each step smooth and professional. I especially appreciate the great communication, and flexibility with my pickup company. Highly Highly recommend this Auction house!

Gross Misrepresentation and Blatant Fraud
I purchased this table that was listed as a 19th Century French Provincial for $2, 186.00 When I received the table in California it turned out to be a brand new, cheaply made fake. The wood was still wet from being cut and the glue was not even dry. I am a seasoned antique buyer and I have never seen an auction house trying to rip people off so blatantly. My complaints were directed to a "curator" named Sidney who indirectly said it is probably old wood, which it is not. He refused to talk to me directly and said they would do nothing about it through one of his minions named Ella. Beware of this place they have proven to be unethical, dishonest, and disinterested in their customers satisfaction. Their descriptions should be viewed as fraudulent as they will grossly lie to make a buck on you. I can only assume they have no interest in repeat business. Thank you.

Hello, We attempted to contact you further but the name and contact information on the invoice (Erin) differs from the contact (Carlos) that we spoke with. We left a message with the number on file, asking to please send photographs of the issues stated above, and have so far not had any response. In addition, we supplied numerous additional photographs in the listing itself, all of which show the condition and style of the woodwork. Again, we are happy to look into this further, we just need a response to our request for additional photos of the issues stated above.

Disappointing
The photos used in the catalogue showed paint was intact. The painting I received had significant paint loss, which was not due to damage incurred in shipping. The shipper confirmed painting was damaged at time of pick up. So it was either damaged at auction house after auction or the catalogue photos were inaccurate. I emailed images to auction house and someone was going to get back to me. That was more than six weeks ago.

Nice items for great prices
Really nice items overall but the condition of items could be shown in the pictures or described in the condition field and overall be more transparent.

Great item at a fair price
The chairs are great and I was thrilled with the price. I do wish they took a few more pictures, but the condition was very good and no hidden flaws.

Great folks at fair prices excellent service
The staff at Crescent City could not be nicer or more helpful. They are always willing to help and are responsive when called or emailed. Their personnel seem invested in their clients. Offering fair prices without the games of other NOLA auction houses. Highly recommend

I wish I could give this zero stars. Never buying from them again
I have had prior bad experiences with crescent house auctions so had stopped buying from them for a while, but I saw an interesting item that I decided to take a chance on, partly because it did not look fragile. I asked for a detailed condition report and pictures which they sent. The trouble is they lied. The item was broken in pieces-and it is a heavy item and difficult to break. They loaded it onto the shippers truck completely broken and then refused to get in contact with me. This auction house is dishonest and their behavior is straight out fraudulent. I don't know how liveauctioneers allows them on this platform. I have contacted liveauctioneers but hard to know if they are going to help with this. Terrible experience overall. It was definitely a mistake for me to give this auction house another chance. Never again.

SOLD COUNTERFIET ITEM, WOULD NOT REFUND NOR ADMIT GUILT, HORRIBLE, STAY AWAY
I bought 2 pocket watches, they purposely did not show a hallmark on the 14k gold case, oddly they had time to show a sterling hallmark. They also had no photo of the back of the watch. I would soon find out why. Before I paid I send 10 emails and called 10x, I finally got a reply and was guaranteed it was a 14k gold pocket watch. Well, I got them and was in shock. The hallmark in the case was a fake 14k stamp, it was actually done so poorly it was done 2x. The back of the case was all worn, brass was showing on the edges. I now knew why they hid all the needed info. When I asked for help I was stonewalled and ignored, eventually I was quoted some mumbo jumbo and told to run salt. I have spend a fortune on line, 99.99 % of all sellers would have canceled the sale and not even taken my money. Why these hustlers needed to con me and force a confrontation over a small lot is something I will never understand. So to surmise, Horrible service, fake 14k gold item, no help at all. Emails and phone calls ignored. I had to file a credit card dispute and leave a bad review which I hate to do. AVOID THESE PEOPLE LIKE THE PLAGUE. I only wish I did.

Blocks Calls To Management
I'm been an art and antique dealer for 42 years. I expect that things may not go smoothly. But these people are offensive. Worse still, they block all calls to management. This particular lot was not for resale, but a Newel Post lamp I needed for my 19h Century NYC Townhouse, as a bozo destroyed my cuurent one, so I'm really pissed.

Beware of Damaged Goods Sold by this Auction House!
If you intend on bidding for something, wait! Do not bid first and ask questions later. You must ask them to give you a written condition report. Read their contract thoroughly. All that bad stuff they say could happen just did for me. The photo showed it was in great shape. What I thought was a shadow on the front panel of this beautiful glass and brass clock was a huge crack. Also, their photo did not show the top of it which had a glass panel that was completely broken and destroyed. The auction company quickly told me to to file a claim with the UPS Store who they have no association to. I explained to them that the damage was not caused by the shippers or the shipping process. The UPS store did a perfect job, double boxed and lots of bubble. They insisted they did not know about the smashed top. The chip on the face of the porcelain dial was not mentioned either. If I file a claim, I would have to send the clock back and they would scrap it as salvage. It's well over a hundred years old and would be a travesty. They would not reimburse me enough to have it repaired. So, they say I am out of luck because I checked the little box that said I read all their terms. This company is doing this to a lot of unsuspecting customers. They are well versed in telling you you're out of luck because you signed their contract. There is not transparency or decency in commanding top dollar for a seemingly perfect item and then quickly telling the buyer to file a fraudulent insurance claim once it comes to them in horrible condition. Please don't become a victim of this unscrupulous seller. They have no sympathy and the time you will spend filing a false insurance claim will make you crazy and waste your time and you will be breaking the law yourself. Go to the Louisiana Insurance Fraud Unit and report your incident if this company asks you to file a false claim because you know the damage didn't happen in shipping and was not listed in the condition report. Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!

Easy pick-up, payment and communication
Diligent buyers won't be disappointed. Preview in person or ask for more info if bidding online. They deal in B to C grade items typically, so don't expect museum quality pieces for this price range. This is a great auction house for resellers, good estimates and simple payment and pickup.
