I bought an Antique Sikh Indian Akali Quoit CHAKRAM Throwing Ring, which for a Sikh is like the holy grail of Sikh weapons with sacred Gurmukhi prayer inscriptions engraved on the Chakra which is a milliion in one rarity. The Chakra is from the 19th century and over a 100 yrs old from The Akali immortal Sikh Warrior Clan, so it is rich in history. I was extremely lucky to win the item for a super price and receieved it in the UK in 4 days. The payment and transaction was smooth and I like talking to the Katrina at reception who is super nice, helpful and friendly. I had a superb positive experience with the Auction and this is the second time I have done business with them. The Chakram Sikh weapon I won is also silver plated and its craftsmanship is exquisite. The Chakram was received exactly as described and pictured. I am so blessed and want to express my enormous gratitude to the Auction house for being able to secure such rare and sacred items which I though only existed in Panjab and the Deccan. The item was packed very well by UPS and I had no problems with customs which was a huge relief, when it’s done properly by the shipper. The chakram was first worn our 10th Guru, Guru Gobind Ji who is a great warrior and Guru of the Sikhs and Sikh warriors would wear several over the turban in different sizes and were the most feared and bravest warriors in India. Maharaja Ranjit (Shere Panjab-Lion of the Panjab) was the last Sikh Maharaja of the Panjab, and ruled as the leader of the Sikh Empire from 18th-19th century until the British Raj, and his personal bodyguards were the Akali Sikh Warriors which means those that do not fear death and are immortals, who this Chakram is from, so the Chakram will stay within my family generations as a sacred blessing forever. Thank you Sofe Design Auctions, LLC. The last Sikh weapon, a sword sold for 8000 dollars, so I am very blessed to have won this Chakram at a very good price.

Very good pictures clearly showed the piece. The item was described as Satsuma, but it is actually Kutani. This is a very common mistake, but due to the clear pictures, including the signature, I could identify it prior to purchase. I picked up the piece and the sellers were very friendly and a pleasure to chat with.

$25 to ship something roughly the size of a 50 cent piece within the same state. The lady I talked to to arrange payment was very nice-very professional but the company did not respond to my initial email asking for an invoice to pay electronically and I was a little shocked at the cost of shipping-USPS priority insured would have been 1/3 of the quoted amount. I have no issue paying the percentage an auction house adds to a bid-that's how they stay in business but it seems a bit much to also jack-up the shipping cost-when there really isn't any other (convenient) way to receive the item. I'll not be buying from this company in the future.
