Picked up a lot of scales and it was very disorganized. They left an item out that we had to return to pick up. (We live 1.5 hours away!) Also one of the weights was missing from one of the scales. Called to explain my dissatisfaction and requested compensation. Owner called weeks later and offered nothing. Would not recommend.

This newbie to Liveauctioneers has a lot of learning to do. The two brooches I purchased had ZERO information: no weight, gold content, karat, gemstone identification or size. Despite this lack of information, excitedly I bid on them based on the photo and my knowledge of antique jewelry. That was clearly my mistake. But afterwards, when I contacted the company to get more information, not only was I met with an attitude of insouciance, but I was also threatened that if I did not go thru with the transaction that I would receive a strike against my flawless Liveauctioneers account. The auctioneer was neither compassionate nor forgiving. He could have cancelled the sale, given me a discount, or tried, in some way, to assuage my discontent. He offered nothing except threats. As a seller and dealer of fine antique jewelry for over 25 years, I have learned the artful technique of creating a “win-win” with my clientele and the delicate art of negotiation. Clearly this brash, and short-sighted auctioneer has not acquired these skills. But perhaps now he will take heed.

I have been going to Devin's auctions since he started and have purchased some great items over the years. I always enjoy seeing what he will have in his next auction and look forward to bidding.
