20th Century Decorative Arts and Design

The decorative Arts of the 20th century and Design auction will feature around 400 lots: furniture, lamps and prototypes designed by Italian designers of international fame such as Achille Castiglioni, Ettore Sottsass Jr. , Carla Venosta, Gio Ponti and foreign, among whom Ron Arad. ?? Top lot: the Light Table by the Israeli designer, designed in the '90s,  is made from thin steel sheets, which shaped and welded together, reach a spatial continuity that brings this designers piece close to a work of art. Among the most interesting confirments are some very rare prototypes developed and produced by  BBB Bonacina Meda. Of note: the "Bicicletta" trolley by Achille Castiglioni, built in the late '70s in only two specimens; two tables and four stools made of brightly colored plastic, wood and metal of the Crump series by Ettore Sottsass Jr.?   The catalogue also includes a gem of the Milanese designer culture after World War II, thanks to the furnishings made by BBPR who at the beginning of the '50s, in the heart of Milan, entirely design and decorate an elegant apartment, restructured by the same architects about ten years later. Coming from Ca 'del Foghèr in Cortina d'Ampezzo, a mountain home designed in the late 30s by Pier Giulio Magistretti are numerous decorations and lamps.??   Among the many made in Italy products we would like to point out some rare furnishings designed by Carla Venosta, along with some prototypes which had been rewarded in various competitions; two  model "969" chairs, many drawings and letters by Gio Ponti; a rare bevelled  glass mirror designed by Carlo Scarpa for Venini in the '30s; two exceptional twentieth century corner cupboards by Giovanni Muzio and a large group of furniture designed by Paul Buffa between the '40s and' 50s.?? Lastly we can find an interesting group of Italian ceramics and Murano glass, and a selection of lamps designed by Max Ingrand,Gino Sarfatti,Angelo Lelii respectively forFontana Arte,Arteluce,Arredoluce
