(Walt Disney World, 1971) An extremely rare large map of the Walt Disney World Resort, including the Magic Kingdom and its surrounding hotels. This map was used as wall art in the Contemporary Resort Hotel guest rooms during the earliest days of the Resort. Created with future expansion in mind, the map features images of the planned Asian, Persian, and Venetian resorts that were never completed. For use in the rooms, the map was adhered to Masonite and secured to the walls. Most of these rare maps did not survive removal, making this piece a very hard-to-find Walt Disney World artifact. Measuring 48" x 60", the impressive map is in good condition with up to 5” tears and heavy chips at each corner, long scratches including a 9” one on the left side, stains, and very light discoloration.
