1687 History of OPERA Renaissance Theatre Music Ballet Jean-Baptiste Lully Illustrated
An impressive collection of opera and ballet librettos from famous and important composers and librettists. The opera, as most people understand it, did not take on its modern form until the late 18th-century. Prior to Mozart, opera composers were few and not nearly as popular as they would become in the 1800s. Many of the works included in this set were of Jean-Baptiste Lully.
