This beautifully crafted tortoise shell snuff box is approximately 3 ⅜ x 1 ¼”. An important commemorative relic, given to visiting dignitaries during the First Empire. Completed in astonishing detail, it shows Napoleon mounted with text beneath. It is embossed ormolu (gilt on bronze) and covered with a convex glass; there are two hairline cracks on the rim, the condition overall is very good. Scarce.
