It’s also an ideal big game rifle for hunters who appreciate the nostalgia of 19th century-style firearms. This Model 1895 Cowboy Action Shooter is chambered for 45/70 and features a 18.5" octagon barrel with deep cut ballard type rifling, 6-shot tubular magazine, adjustable marble semi-buckhorn rear and marble carbine front sight. The American black walnut stock has a straight grip, a hard rubber butt plate and a blue steel forend cap. CONDITION: This rifle is in nice condition with very light wear, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore, appears to be in good working order and comes in original box. HISTORY: The first Marlin Model 1895s were manufactured and initially listed in their catalog in 1896. The first rifles were chambered in .38-56, .40-65, .40-82, .45-70 & the .45-90. In 1897 the .40-70 WCF cartridge and in 1912, the .33 WCF cartridge were added to the Model 1895 list of calibers. The rifle was available as a carbine, round barrel rifle, half-octagon or full octagon rifle, and a lightweight rifle. The rifles were available in straight-grip or pistol grip and takedown styles.
