Description
REVOLVER. Cal. 44. S# 111195. Standard configuration, 8" round barrel, German silver blade front sight, 1-line Col. Colt New York address, iron backstrap notched for stock, brass trigger guard. One piece walnut grips with inspection cartouches on either side, small inspector initials on most parts. This is the standard Civil War issued revolver which has survived uncleaned and dark patina. Revolver was made mid 1863 and no doubt saw service. CONDITION: good very good overall, complete, all matching serial numbers including wedge, iron is smooth mottled brown patina, holster wear at muzzle. All markings are easily discerned, cylinder naval battle scene it's partially visible, cylinder retains 3 functional safety pins, grips are well fit with chips at inside toes. Mechanically fine, good rifled bore. (01-25192/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,500.
