Chinese Qing Dynasty QianLong Mille Fleur Porcelain Vase. Potted in shape vase, thick and tall, globular lower body, emerging dragon coil on the shoulder, cylindrical neck with flaring round mouth rim, raised on a short small round foot base slight concave. All reserved in a mille fleur design color. The Mille Fleur decoration, meaning the thousand flowers design first appears in the late Yongzheng period becoming extremely popular in the Qianlong and was carried on throughout the subsequent Jiaqing and DaoGuang periods, usually on a gilt ground. The dense millefleurs design features naturalistic blossoming peonies, chrysanthemums, hibiscus, morning glories, roses, lotus flowers, daisies, lilies and pinks amidst an abundance of foliage, the mouth rims with gilt bands, the bases and interiors often turquoise-enamelled on older pieces. The Under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark. Made in The Years QianLong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
