American 20th Century Artist Jan Lindsay "The First Harrigan" Shadow Box Mixed Media Art. Artist Jan Lindsay known for her dimensional watercolors, she has a home studio in a mountain setting near Jackson, Wyoming, and braids, weaves and laces her work together, transforming flat pieces of paper to give the illusory effect of looking like something else. Doing an independent study at the University of Wyoming, she was encouraged to forget everything else and do something original. This led to her dimensional paper work which she wets, dries, re-wets, molds, stains and washes with watercolor pigment. Much of her work reflects her interest in Native American figures. This piece measures H 51" x W 21.5" x D 7" and weighs approximately 25 lbs. It is signed on the back the name the artist gave the piece and artist signature dated 1994. One piece of the paper shred of art appears to be loose from the piece in the bottom right. Please refer to all photos. Overall it good condition.
