Description
Unknown American Maker. Produced Circa Late 1910's. The hand-painted design for the Baseball Bank establishes the spatial depth of the ball field in a most effective and convincing manner. In the foreground, we find the pitcher and the batter. Halfway back, we see the first baseman in position. The spectators are observed on the bleachers at the far edge of the field. The coin-carrying baseball is pitched at the batter when the activating button is pushed. Pennies are deposited thru a slot found above the dugout on the right. This represents a very fascinating image of early organized baseball as it was practiced at the beginning of the 20th century.
