Circa 1795 Virginia/Mid-Atlantic Tavern Table. Primary wood black walnut with tulip poplar and pine secondary. Finish loss to top with partial scrub top. Four turned legs with stretcher base. Original Hepplewhite style period stamped sheet brass drawer pull with bail handle and original screw posts and one replaced modern nut. Removable top with missing pintle hinges for table top cleats. Drawer is old rebuild with original drawer face and pull. Loss to legs. Split to rear bottom leg block. Replaced corner blocks. Wear and loss commensurate with age and use. Measures 36.25 inches wide x 28.75 x 25.25 inches tall. Catalogue Note: Owner purchased the table in the early 1970's in the Roanoke Valley.
