A very important silver inkstand. Neoclassic taste made by the famous Scheggi. The Scheggis were an important family of silversmiths in Florence, making commissions for Grand Duke Ferdinando III of Tuscany and Prince Camillo Borghese who married Paoline Bonaparte. Their works are visible in the Borghese Palace. With both Scheggi and French silver marks (Tuscany was a French domain at that time).
