Provenance: Cotton 1890's blue and white 25-patch quilt, all hand pieced and hand quilted, with a postage stamp border. The hand quilting is superb, with grid, cable, and other designs quilted throughout at an even 8-9 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is blue, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light. A tag on the back identies the maker "Gaga Lautner," and the quilt came out of Pottersville, NJ.
