Late Han Dynasty, Ca. AD 25 - 200.
A Chinese terracotta votive lamp. The three-storied body has an opening on the lowest section, to burn incense or to put in an oil lamp. The concave top can also be used to burn lighting materials. Votive lamps such as this usually come in a pair and are placed in a Daoist temple. It is comparatively more simple compared to royal funerary lamps.
