A wheellock rifle with staghorn stock, collector's replica in the style of the 17th centuryReworked, grooved, older Persian octagonal barrel of Damascus steel in 13 mm calibre (rear sight missing), rough bore. Tendril decoration at the muzzle and in front of the breech, two smith’s marks at the breech. Wheellock with external, partly covered wheel, cock and cock spring slightly cut. Stock covered with staghorn plates and decorated with inlays of engraved bone as well as carved inlays with depictions of the legends of the Saints Hubert and Eustace. Patch box on the right, smooth trigger guard with finger rest. Wooden ramrod with bone tip. Length 104 cm.Condition: II -
