Description
Albumen full-length standing albumen portrait. Presented in early frame.
A well-composed portrait of Colonel George H. Bartram of Company K of the 183rd Pennsylvania Infantry. Lt. Bartram served for most of 1864 before his late November discharge. During that period, Bartram saw nearly constant action, including at the battles of The Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, the Mine Explosion at Petersburg, and Ream’s Station. He survived them all unscathed. Bartram cuts a rather regal figure in his portrait, with a sword in hand and a confident expression on his face.
