The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Noel Wiggins.

The canvas is unlined and has been stretched over replacement stretcher bars. The paint surface is in good, clean condition. There are minor frame abrasions visible along the extreme edges. Upon inspection under ultraviolet light, while the red pigments fluoresce, these appear original to the artist. There are no visibly apparent signs of inpainting or other forms of restoration.
